Oil and Acrylic Paintings by Luis Valverde February - March, 2008 The Andean landscape of the Peruvian villages, Huancayoq and Chula, provided the inspiration for these colorful paintings by Luis Valverde. The exhibition represents two distinct painting styles utilized by the artist. One series of paintings is rendered and playful in its rounded forms and in another group, Valverde has reduced the Andean landscape and its people to geometric shapes and vibrant colors found in traditional Peruvian costumes. |
