Mother Earth Mural

This mural, made possible by a grant from Southern Exposure, was created specifically for the walls of Mamá Art Cafe by four students and their art teacher from City Arts and Tech High School. The six-paneled mural depicts the beauty of human diversity in age and ethnicity. Another theme illustrated is common human experience through work, struggle, and creativity. Feminine qualities and forces of life are also celebrated in this piece. Motherhood, Mother Earth (also Mother Nature) and female human beings in general are symbolically shown leading every activity in the painting. This mural was created for Mamá Art Cafe to honor the feminine natures in life as well as to continue the artistic dialogue and opportunity that Mamá Art Cafe provides to artists of all ages in the city.
